Linalool is a commonly used synthetic fragrance ingredient that smells strongly floral, sweet, and like lavender, especially at room temperature. It helps "lift" heavier fragrance blends by adding brightness and improving the overall scent. New versions of Linalool, called its derivatives, are often smoother and longer-lasting, making them good for blending with regular Linalool.
